Setting connection timeout for SQL server 2008 using sqlalchemy and pyodbc
I'm trying to connect to a SQL Server 2008 database using SQLAlchemy (with pyodbc) on Python 3.3. I want to set connection timeout for same.
mssql_conn_str ="mssql://xxxx:xxxx@x.x.x.x:1433/xxxx?driver=ODBC Driver 17 for SQL Server&; odbc_options='TDS_Version=7.2'"
try:
create_engine(mssql_conn_str, connect_args={'connect_timeout': 10}).connect()
except Exception as e:
print(e)
I tried with connect_args={'timeout': 10}
too but it takes more time than what I have set.
