Pass id from one html page to another

Okay so i have two html pages,
Article1.html
&
submit.html
Article1.html contains a button that redirects to submit.html
submit.html posts data to a mysql database, but i want to include the article it was referred from..
so in this case article1
what would be the best approach to doing this?
