Google OpenAuth returning ticket - but netcore not logged in

I've used netcore2.1 to login via Google, and despite a ticket being returned, every time I hit a page that requires [authorize]
, it still redirects me to the login page, not my page I requested.
I'm using my login as so, and the correct claims
come back.
services.AddAuthentication().AddGoogle(options =>
{
options.ClientId = Configuration["Authentication:Google:ClientId"];
options.ClientSecret = Configuration["Authentication:Google:ClientSecret"];
options.Backchannel = new HttpClient(httpClientHandler);
// Provide the Google Client
options.Scope.Add("https://www.googleapis.com/auth/plus.login");
options.SaveTokens = true;
options.Events.OnCreatingTicket = ctx =>
{
List<AuthenticationToken> tokens = ctx.Properties.GetTokens()
as List<AuthenticationToken>;
tokens.Add(new AuthenticationToken()
{
Name = "TicketCreated",
Value = DateTime.UtcNow.ToString()
});
ctx.Properties.StoreTokens(tokens);
return Task.CompletedTask;
};
});
I assume I'm missing something?
