How to place adaptive placement points with the points that I read from GML?

My question is about importing GML object to Revit. I created a adaptive family with 6 adaptive points. I created also a XML parser to read points from GML file. What I am trying to do is: Reading points from GML file and using them as adaptive placement points in Revit. I parsed points from GML file intoList<XYZ> pnts
. But it's not working.
Am I missing something?
using (Transaction t = new Transaction(doc))
{
t.Start("create surface");
FamilySymbol symbol = null;
foreach (ElementId id in fam.GetFamilySymbolIds())
{
symbol = doc.GetElement(id) as FamilySymbol;
break;
}
if (!symbol.IsActive)
symbol.Activate();
// Create a new instance of an adaptive component family
FamilyInstance famInstance = AdaptiveComponentInstanceUtils.CreateAdaptiveComponentInstance(doc, symbol);
// Get the placement points of this instance
IList<ElementId> placementPointIds = new List<ElementId>();
placementPointIds = AdaptiveComponentInstanceUtils.GetInstancePlacementPointElementRefIds
(famInstance);
//Set the position of each placement point
foreach (ElementId id in placementPointIds)
{
var pntsMax = pnts.Count;
for (int i = 0; i < pntsMax; i++)
{
ReferencePoint point = doc.GetElement(id) as ReferencePoint;
point.Position = pnts[i];
}
}
t.Commit();
}
